In terms of basic functionality, the ocarinas play, but due to the holes being the same size on all of them, standard fingerings don't work and a standard ocarina fingering chart can't be used. However, it's still possible to play scales/chromatics by sometimes keeping holes half-covered. The ocarinas come in different sizes with varying numbers of holes - the 2 small ones have 4 holes, the 5 medium ones have 6 holes, and the 1 big one has 8 holes.
