The UanofCn 892150Q02 Ignition Sensor Kit is a relatively simple replacement for those having issues with their MerCruiser Thunderbolt IV V V6 V8 Engines. One customer had a failed OEM part and after replacing it, the engine started and ran perfectly. The installation involves connecting the wires according to their colors and grounding an extra black wire. There is also a foam seal that needs to be compressed to line up the mounting bolts. This replacement may be worth trying before upgrading to the HEI. Another customer replaced their old sensor during a tune-up and it has been working perfectly so far.
