The Liquitex BASICS Gesso Surface Prep Medium is a high-quality gesso that provides a perfect surface for acrylic or oil painting. The thick solution is made of glue, whiting, and linseed oil and is used primarily for porous backgrounds to seal and somewhat fill any small roughness. It can be used to prep canvases, paper, cloth, paper mache, and even carvings with intricate details without filling in. One coat is more than enough, and it provides excellent coverage and texture that allows the paint to grab the surface. This gesso works supremely well on plastic, but it is advised to use paint that is recommended for plastic models. It arrives well packaged, and the instructions are self-explanatory.
