Answer: Try adjusting the string placement on the bar that is out of tune. Moving it slightly may help bring it back in tune. -

Answer: They can be used in a drum circle, but the volume when blended with drums may be uncertain. They are small and easy to transport. -

Could I use a hardwood striker instead of a mallet?
Answer: The mallet that comes with the chimes is wood, and using a hardwood striker produces the best sound. Testing with a wooden kitchen spoon didn't yield a nice tone. -

Would the alloy bars rust if left in rain?
Answer: The Aluminum Alloy bars will not rust, but they may oxidize. You can polish off the oxidation similar to a cymbal.
TreeWorks Chimes TRE420 Editorial Review
This Treeworks chime emits a beautiful tone and is perfect for meditation, sound healing and yoga. It is made of solid Tennessee hardwood mantle and has a long resonance with a brilliant tone. The chimes are tuned to a GM7 chord and can be heard at varying volumes depending on the force of the mallet strike. The optional alloy bars will not rust and are anticorrosive. The chimes are suitable for a drum circle or dinner chimes. These chimes were also reviewed as relaxing and tonal, a great addition to any relaxation practice. The drawbacks were some minor issues with tuning, missing mallet and the absence of a carrying case.
