The PORTER-CABLE Hand Planer, 6-Amp, 5-64-Inch PC60THP is a double-bladed tool that has a nice feel and balance to it and isn't as bulky and heavy as some of the lower-priced ones. It has a lot of power to spare and is a nice little tool to have around the house. It's great for use on chainsaw cut lumber or for trimming and doors, and it works perfectly fine. However, if you're looking to use it on a joist that's longer than 15 feet, you might experience a problem as the Parking Foot on the tool may slide on the smooth wood surface, making it hard to start at a specific spot. Also, if you push down harder to make the Parking Foot go down, it may come down too hard and gouge the joist. Despite this, the tool is still a good investment as it works great for the purpose it's meant to.
