Answer: I don't know the answer to your question. I actually bought the Resophonic pickup, not the Archtop Mandolin. I would recommend that you reach out directly to Fishman with your question. -

How is the M-300 Nashville mandolin pickup different from the M-100 Classic?
Answer: The m100 and 200 pickups have the piezo element in the upper saddle portion. The m300 moves the element into the body contact/bridge portion, which supposedly makes it sound more natural. I have both, but have not had a chance to install the 300 yet.
