SWISSGEAR Laptop Backpacks Editorial Review
The SWISSGEAR Wired Pro Laptop Backpack is a sound backpack with all the pockets one could need, including a separate pouch for a tablet, sunglasses and even a water cooler and battery back up. The backpack is sturdy, but a bit heavier than desired. The backpack has corner padding for a 15" laptop but has one thin strap to secure it that allows the laptop to move vertically in the pocket by roughly an inch, which some customers disliked. The USB charger wiring and TSA lay flat feature are nice touches. Though, the phone pocket on the strap is too small for larger phones. Some customers note it's imperative to measure the pocket to understand whether your phone will fit or not. One customer received the backpack with chipping paint on the hardware, and one of the safety straps tear-off without using the backpack to its full capacity. This is disappointing as brand customers expect better quality for the price. Space is limited in this backpack compared to previously owned SWISSGEAR backpacks, with fewer zippered pockets. The front compartment zippers both regularly get stuck on the small piece of expansion fabric for the front pocket which is not an ideal design. However, there are plenty of storage options, a comfortable fit and a luggage strap.
