İkinci ciltte Sofistlerden başlayarak Sokrates, küçük Sokratesçi okullar ve Platon felsefesi ele alınıyor. Üçüncü cilt ise tümüyle, hem ortaçağ İslam felsefesi hem de geç dönem Hıristiyan ortaçağ felsefesi tarihi bakımından özel öneme sahip, Müslümanların İlk Öğretmen olarak nitelendirdikleri Aristoteles'e ayrılmıştır.
